Does Anybody Know What Time It Is?

tim-taylor-aus-tool-timeWhile the correct answer would be “tool time”, its not what I’m going for here.  Tonight’s Castle did something that no episode thus far has been able to do, it actually had an ending.  The back and forth of Beckett and Castle, on again off again working deal on top of their quasi relationship built up through the entire episode and ended in a way that gave closure and looked forward.

I’m going to go as far as to liken it to one of my favorite season endings ever, Supernatural Season Two ended with the boys closing the trunk and recommitting to their mission.  Tonight Castle and Beckett set themselves up for potentially three more books or seasons.  You’d think this would be a good thing and it is, but I think this episode was massively misplaced.4a166a9acb6a7aaa_Castle-picture-2.preview

Last year Castle sorta just.. stopped and even this year’s premiere, while good, was just another episode.  There were a few little things about her mother’s murder but all of the episodes could have passed for any placement in the season.  I would have liked to have seen this episode sit as a midseason finale or even the season’s finale but that’s not the case.  You can happily look forward to a new episode of Castle next week.

I’m going to let this go as acceptable, considering they’ve done nothing wrong but it means they will really have to step up the finales this year to make up for it.
